Accountant

An experienced accountant is needed to maintain accurate financial records, prepare financial statements, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations for a growing concrete block manufacturing company.

Key Responsibilities

Maintaining accurate and up-to-date general ledger accounts.
Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Processing accounts payable invoices, including those for raw materials (cement, sand, aggregates), utilities, and other operational expenses.
Reconciling vendor accounts and resolve discrepancies.
Analysing inventory turnover and identify areas for improvement.
Preparing and filing tax returns (VAT, Income Tax, etc.)
Ensuring compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations.
Analysing production costs to identify areas for cost reduction and improve profitability.
Assisting in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
Monitoring actual performance against budget and provide variance analysis.

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).

The Tax Associate is an entry-level role responsible for assisting in tax compliance, tax return preparation, and tax research. This role provides support to senior team members in delivering high-quality tax services to clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Assisting in preparing corporate tax returns, VAT returns, and PAYE filings.
Ensuring timely and accurate filing of tax returns in compliance with regulations.
Conducting research on Ghanaian tax laws and provide updates to the team.
Assisting in responding to client queries on tax-related matters.
Maintaining and organize tax files and documentation.
Supporting tax audits and liaise with tax authorities under supervision.
Collaborating with other departments to ensure tax compliance in audits and advisory work.
Staying updated on tax law changes and attend tax training sessions.

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
A student or part qualified in ICA, ACCA, or equivalent certification is an advantage.
1–2 years of experience in tax or related accounting roles.
Basic understanding of Ghanaian tax laws and compliance.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and tax software.
Strong analytical and attention-to-detail skills.
Good communication and teamwork abilities.
