I need assurance
Audit and Assurance
An opinion a lender, a regulator or a board will accept, delivered by a partner who was in the fieldwork.
Statutory audit is the work most clients come to us for, and it is where the firm's reputation sits. We plan backwards from your reporting deadline, issue the document request list at planning, and hold a readiness call before fieldwork opens. Where the deadline is tight we put more people on the engagement rather than letting the date move.
- Who leads
- A partner and a manager, named
- Timeline
- Two to six weeks of fieldwork
- Fee basis
- Fixed, quoted before we start
I need to stay compliant
Tax
Compliance handled quietly, and a position you could defend if somebody tested it. Led by Michael Siaw Larbi, Partner, Tax and Advisory.
Most tax exposure in Ghana starts with ordinary obligations filed late or at the wrong rate, compounding until an officer arrives and asks for four years of records at once. We take the compliance off your desk, then look at whether the position itself is defensible, which is the work that changes numbers rather than tidying them.
- Who leads
- Partner and tax manager
- Response
- Same day where a deadline is set
- Fee basis
- Retainer or fixed fee
I need to grow or decide
Advisory
Work you commission because a decision is pending, and the decision is worth more than the fee.
A price, a purchase, a restructure, a growth plan or a control that keeps failing. The output is not a filing, it is an answer with the reasoning attached. Every engagement is scoped in phases with a deliverable at the end of each, so you can act on the first and decline the rest.
- Who leads
- A partner throughout
- Timeline
- Three to eight weeks
- Fee basis
- Fixed fee per phase
I need a finance team
Accounting and People
The finance function run properly, without the hiring. For businesses under about thirty people that are not ready to hire a finance team.
Management accounts by working day five, statutory compliance handled without you thinking about it, and somebody senior to call when the decision is bigger than the bookkeeping. We run a full parallel month before going live, so nothing is lost in the handover.
- Who leads
- A named manager, partner reviewed
- Onboarding
- Four to six weeks
- Fee basis
- Fixed monthly fee
How we work
Four things you can hold us to
These apply to every engagement, in every practice.
The partner who wins the engagement stays on it, from planning through to signing. Named in the proposal, in the fieldwork, and at the clearance meeting.
Scope, timing and a fixed fee before any work starts, held unless the scope changes.
We plan backwards from your board meeting, facility review or donor cycle. Where the date is tight we add people rather than moving it.
When the numbers say something you would rather not hear, you will hear it, and you will hear it early enough to act on.
Independence
We will tell you what we cannot do for you.
Some combinations are not permitted. We cannot audit accounts we prepared, and we cannot design a control and then opine on whether it operates. Every engagement is assessed for independence before we accept it, and you will hear about a conflict before you commit rather than halfway through.
