Gary Dewey

Gary is an international business consultant and strategic advisor with over 30 years advising organisations across Spain, the United Kingdom, India and the United States, in strategic planning, tax advisory, academic leadership and professional training.

Assurance and advisory together

Having done both, he knows what a buyer, a lender or an auditor will test. That perspective is most valuable at the point a client is preparing for scrutiny rather than reacting to it.

The consultancies

He owns and directs Strategy Office, a consultancy that works on strategic performance through a structured route from development to implementation to execution. He also leads Numerological, a specialist tax consultancy for UK nationals with Spanish property, handling their Spanish tax liabilities and filings. Both are businesses he runs rather than advises, which is a different kind of knowledge to bring to a client's own.

In the classroom

Gary is an associate professor at Durham University Business School, teaching corporate finance, management accounting and international business. He lectures frequently for ACCA, CIMA and ICAEW, and sits on the disciplinary committee at CIMA. Teaching the syllabus and sitting in judgement on breaches of it are both useful disciplines for a partner signing work.
